Session Description: Have you ever wondered about the order and precision in God’s universe? Understanding chemistry is one way to get a glimpse of creation. In these sessions, you will be prepared for further studies in Chemistry by studying the Periodic table, basics of atomic theory, and discovering the structure of ionic and molecular bonds. You will learn to name the ionic and molecular bonds and prepare for future lab experiences with an overview of WHMIS. Finally, you will also explore the world of environmental chemistry. The online sessions will include a mix of direct instruction and interaction with the teacher and other students. There will be some assigned questions for you to complete between sessions in individual interaction with Mrs. L'Heureux in our Learning Management System. If you are planning to write the PAT exams for grade 9, this course will help you prepare for the Chemistry questions.
When: Virtual sessions on Friday mornings at 9:30 am for 45 mins-1 hour. February 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, March 4th, 11th, 18th. Interaction with Mrs. L’Heureux in the Koinonia Learning Management System. Who: This class is open to students from Koinonia@Home and other school boards.
