About the event

Wild Canada Edu-Trek is an unforgettable zoo tour that takes you on an adventure through various natural habitats found across the Canadian landscape. Our conservation educators will lead you on an educational and entertaining journey, introducing you to a diverse range of wildlife species and the conservation efforts that protect their natural habitats. Animals observed may include cougars, bears, mountain goats, moose, whooping cranes, river otters, and polar bears.

This guided tour is open for all ages Kindergarten and up. As there is only room on the tour for 4 adults, we ask that families purchase only ONE parent ticket. Additional adults may purchase a general zoo admission at the gate and join you after the tour to explore the Zoo.  For parents of older students who don't wish to visit the zoo at all, we will have a meeting time at the gate and your child will be supervised by a Koinonia teacher, who will then meet you at the gate after the tour to pick up.

Tickets to this program allow you access to the zoo after to explore. Note that a zoo membership does NOT grant access to this tour, so tickets are required for all attending the Edutrek.

Length: 75 minutes Program times: 12 Maximum numbers: 30 students (K-gr12), 4 adults.

Zoo rules to not permit preschoolers or infants/toddlers on the tour.

Admission to this educational program allows you time to explore the zoo on your own after the program ends. Please note the following important stipulations from the Calgary Zoo:

  • All participants attending the programs must enter the zoo together as a group. Late arrivals will unfortunately miss out on entering the zoo and will not be refunded. Anyone not attending the programs must enter separately from the group to ensure their tickets/memberships are scanned. Memberships or general gate admission do not provide access to paid programming, so anyone using these to enter the zoo cannot participate in the program but can re-join the group after the program has concluded.
  • Our education programs are for kindergarten to grade 12 only. Preschool students, infants/toddlers are not permitted to attend a school program and cannot enter the zoo on a School Program ticket. Any parents with younger children are welcome to use memberships or purchase day admission and explore the zoo on their own during the program time.
