Board of Directors
The Koinonia Christian School Education Society Board of Directors is composed entirely of volunteers. To learn a little bit about them please read the biographies below.

Board Chair
Mr. Juan Arias
Juan Arias is a Pastor and Campus father. He also serves as a ‘settlement practitioner’, assisting newcomers to the country find their way in Canada and learn about cultural and employment differences here. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Juan and his family love Koinonia and the blessing it is to their education. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board.

Board Treasurer
Mr. Jeremy Anderson
Jeremy previously served as the Chair of the Parent Advisory Council at Koinonia Christian School Red Deer for three consecutive years. He and his wife regularly participate at the school to assist students develop excellence in faith, moral character, and academics while promoting lifestyles related to Christian witness. Together they have one son who attends the school. Jeremy is actively involved with coaching youth athletics in the community and is committed to discipleship-based Christian education. He has devoted his life to service of God and country, values the Koinonia Christian School commitment to an uncompromising Biblical standard, and considers it a distinct honour to serve on the Board of Directors.

Board Member
Mr. Conrad Tycholaz
Conrad Tycholaz and his family have a long history with Koinonia Red Deer – his children are third generation students here! He and his wife have 4 children attending the school, his wife is a teacher in the school as well. Conrad is a commercial mason who operates his own business in the city. He has been on the board for more than 6 years and is passionate about what the school represents to the community.

Board Member
Mr. Shafer Parker
Shafer Parker is a retired Pastor and has been married to his wife Jeanne for 47 years. He has worked as a journalist with Alberta Report, and currently serves on the board for Faith Beyond Belief. He has long been preaching the need for Christian Education for our children, even when he had public school teachers in his congregation. He recognized long ago that the education system is in direct conflict with the gospel and works to corrupt event the youngest students. He is honored to serve on both the KCSRD and KCES boards, furthering Christian Education for our children.

Board Member
Mrs. Heidi Gebbink
Heidi Gebbink and her husband Travis have 4 children who attend Koinonia Christian School.
She works part-time for her church, doing administrative work and enjoys spending her free time volunteering at the school, for The Mustard Seed, and Serve Second Hand Furniture Store. She formerly served on the Parent Advisory Council for 2 years and feels privileged that God is using her to be on the Board of Directors, advocating for the students to receive a quality education from a biblically grounded worldview and for the staff to be well supported.
